SellMyFinancialPractice was started to help fill a gap we felt existed in the financial advisory space.  As the average age of financial advisors continues to increase, the vast majority of financial advisors who are at or approaching retirement don’t have a continuity plan, much less a full succession plan.  Our goal is to provide advisors facing these challenges with a straight forward process to protect their businesses, maximize the value of what they have built, and help ensure their clients continue to receive the planning and advice they need. 

 

Brian Heapps

Brian Heapps is an industry-recognized leader with history of change management that strives to significantly improves the lives of advisors and their clients. This includes founding and building Keystone Financial Management , one of John Hancock Financial Network’s largest firms, to developing and launching an industry first Build4Success program which allowed advisors to Value, Protect, Grow and Realize the equity of the practices. As President of John Hancock’s broker-dealer Signator Investors, Inc., he transformed a proprietary distribution channel into a top 10 independent broker-dealer. Brian is currently President and CEO of Innovative Financial Group (IFG), a full-service financial planning and wealth management firm with over 130 affiliated advisors running independent practices throughout the country. Brian is continually innovating and launching new initiatives to improve the industry including MyRemoteFA®, a remote advice platform, and SellMyFinancialPractice.

Malcolm Thomas

Malcolm Thomas is passionate about building the next generation of financial advisory firms, by helping existing financial advisors connect and transition their businesses to the financial advisory firms of tomorrow. Malcolm was part of the leadership team at Signator Investors, Inc. and oversaw the recruiting and acquisition strategy that included multiple large broker dealer acquisitions. After helping facilitate the sale of Signator to Advisor Group, he led the advisor platform at XY Planning Network and worked with RIAs to launch, build, and scale their businesses. Malcolm’s expertise is in the matchmaking between buyers and sellers and making sure you find the right buyer for your business.

Amy Heapps

Amy Heapps is an industry veteran who has spent her entire career assisting advisors in creating more efficient and productive practices. Amy realized early on in her career that there was a substantial need to help advisors think of their practice as a business. She pursued her Master of Science in Management at night and possesses a unique skill set that gives her the ability to quickly resolve advisor practice issues. Amy applied her skills to her role as a Team Lead at Signator Investors elite advisor Practice Management group. Now as Head of Advisor Engagement at Innovative Financial Group, Amy leads a team focused on helping advisors increase the value of their businesses by integrating technology, creating efficiencies, and building a business that will last beyond them.
